Don't leave Afghanistan alone at critical juncture tells Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan to world. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that global community has some expectations of Taliban government. Says Taliban including representative of all ethnicities into the government. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi appealed to the world Wednesday not to leave people of Afghanistan alone at this critical juncture, as the International Community hesitates to recognize the new regime in the country.
The international community has warned it will judge the Taliban by its actions, and that the recognition of a Taliban-led government would be linked to the treatment of woman and the minorities, international media reported. As per my information, the government in Afghanistan is expending and other ethnicities are also being included in it, addressing the Foreign Press Association on the occasions of the 76th Sessions of United Nation General Assembly. If this report is true then they are moving towards collectivism and inclusivity, which is right direction. Addressing to General Assembly, he said the International Community is talking about comprehensive political settlement in Afghanistan.
He further added that the International Community wants to make sure that terrorist groups have no place in Afghanistan. At the same time, Taliban have announced that they will not allow the Afghan Territory to be used against any country. Taliban Leadership has also announced that they will not allow anyone to use Afghanistan's land against any of the country.
It was right decision by the US to withdraw their forces after they achieved their goals, as according to Washington, its mission in Afghanistan has completed. Like Pakistan, all neighbours of Afghanistan want peace in the country said Qureshi. He said that responsible behavior from the Taliban government was in the group's own interest.
He pointed out that Afghanistan women can be seen protesting on the street in a viral video on social media. Qureshi said that the same was not possible 20 years ago and adding it that it is an indication that things are changing in Afghanistan. Welcoming the apportionment of 1.2 US Billion Dollars in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan in Geneva, he addressed that unfreezing Afghanistan's frozen assets will help the country out of humanitarian crises.
Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi further added in his speech that Pakistan has been hosting more than 03 Million Afghan refugees for the past four decades without the help of the International Community. He warned the world that if the situation in Afghanistan worsens, the risk of refugees influx will increase. Pakistan cannot afford anymore refugees. Pakistan extended unrestricted help of the safe evacuation of diplomatic staff and citizens of different countries from Kabul but unfortunately, Pakistan's positive efforts were not appreciated.
The foreign Minister also said that India wants to create instability in Pakistan. India used Afghanistan territory against us the proof of which we have presented to the world. We want peace and stability in the region, but in response to our desire, for peace, India has taken unilateral step in Kashmir on August 5,2019 to aggravate the situation.
In the 76th Sessions of General Assembly of United Nations the most importance was given to the issue of Taliban the newly government in Afghanistan and the nations of the world has appraised that due attention is required to Afghanistan for keeping peace and prosperity in the world. On the other hand Taliban had nominated their Doha based spokesman Suhail Shaheen as Afghanistan's permanent representative to the UN. No government has yet recognized the Taliban government, first demanding that it meet commitments on human rights, but some have made positive noises.
