Today
we are going to talk about the energy crisis that has plagued Pakistan for a
long time. The crisis has been going on for a long time and it is getting
worse with each passing year due to which Pakistan’s industry, commercial customers,
and labors are facing severe problems like shortage of electricity, gas which
need great attention.
The sector most affected by the energy
crisis is industrial sector which is shut down due to lack of energy in summer
or winter. Thousands of workers lose their jobs and Pakistan's export orders
are severely affected. Power outages and the disappearance of gas in the winter
indicate that there is no intensive work being done and preparations are not
being made for the time to come and the government mission is not serious about
this. Pointing out that the energy shortage that has been plaguing Pakistan for
the last several years is still continuing till today. The situation of energy
crises is becoming worse every passing year which is an alarming situation for
everyone in Pakistan.
Today, the energy sector is the most
important sector, but like the previous governments, the current government did
not take any special interest in this sector and did not take any steps to
avoid gas and electricity load shedding. Pakistan is one of the countries in
the world who is facing severe energy crises. The population of Pakistan
has grown rapidly, but the industrial sector, the domestic sector and the gas
supply sector are still facing severe shortages. Pakistan has to take
this issue seriously now or else the situation could get out of hand. The
stoves of the labor homes are also shut down during energy crises. As many
listen to Pakistan, which has a significant textile industry, its export orders
are also severely affected. Bangladesh and India are not facing shortage of
energy crises and due to this reason their exports are higher than Pakistan.
But Pakistan is facing severe shortage of energy crises which is also effect
exports of Pakistan.
It is also noteworthy that if the
government instead of fulfilling its responsibility shifted the responsibility
to the previous governments, the country is facing energy shortage today due to
their incompetence. In fact, no steps have been taken to address the energy
shortage. This is not a bad thing that happens twice a year but lack of strategy
and incompetence on the part of any government. In other words you can say that
it was bad governance. Load shedding in summer and disappearance of gas in
winter is a usually happening for last many years, but no steps have been taken
to solve it. If the situation continues like this then how will Pakistan
compete with other countries in the region and Pakistan's exports are badly
affected. Unemployment increases every year. Every year workers face problems
like unemployment and domestic consumers are also facing many problems due to load
shedding of gas and electricity. Recently, Pakistan failed to purchase LPG to
avoid gas load shedding in winter, due to which the gas crisis has risen sharply
with the onset of winter season. Children have to go to school without
breakfast. Businessman’s and job persons have to go to their offices without
any breakfast. Pakistan will have to assess its energy needs and take action
accordingly so that in the summer and winter season you will save population of
your country from energy crises.
In
fact, the population of Pakistan has grown very fast with the increase in
energy needs but due to lack of measures at the government level the country is
facing a severe energy crisis. This energy crisis intensifies with each passing
year. The main reason is the lack of action. Until the energy crisis is
resolved, you will not be able to compete with other countries in the region.
You will always have problems. Your industry will be shut down every year.
Millions of workers will continue to be unemployed and this spectacle will continue.
There are large scale oil refineries in Pakistan but they cannot help to solve
the energy crisis. Planting a plant and importing gas ahead of time can save
you from energy crises. Countries that are facing shortage of gas are saved by
buying LPG from Qatar, Iran and Russia and convert it to gas. But Pakistan
failed to buy LPG this summer for upcoming winter season, which it had to convert
to gas and supply the same in winter season. The gas crisis has intensified and
has badly affected the performance of government of Pakistan as well as
population of Pakistan.
